INDIVIDUALIST is an ongoing art project started on June 17-th, 2009. It is lead by one person. Obviously.

49 handmade shirts will be send to 49 people all over the world. Artists, musicians, travellers, individuals that struggle through life or accomplished something they care about, .. people I know, people I 've met maybe once or maybe never.. you name it.

Only thing I ask for in return, is that they send me a picture back while wearing this shirt. Than all the pictures will be framed and showed during my upcoming exhibition somewhere at the end of the year. The exhibition is held in the Netherlands and features most of my work.

My name is Stefan, I'm a stencil artist and currently reading and learning a lot about collectivism and individualism. By doing this project, I hope to get an answer to my question: "How important is Individualism for each of us and what do we do with it?"

INDIVIDUALIST is also a small research on independency, human moral standards and personal values.

INDIVIDUALIST shows people who believe in themselves.

INDIVIDUALIST shows the uniqueness of people's lives and the importance of individuality.

INDIVIDUALIST binds different people into one - ironically speaking - collective artwork.

INDIVIDUALIST is all about you! And it's fun!
